Hydraulic systems
Trim equipment: the control is given from the pilot bridge by a joystick, which activates an electro-valve and an electro-hydraulic pump which, through an operating pressure of about 100 BAR, puts in motion the cylinder.
The steering gear system is servo assisted. The pressure is given by a pump installed on the engine, which sends the oil to the hydro-guide box located in the pilot bridge (rudder wheel). Turning the rudder, the oil is directed to the Top System cylinders.
When the rudder is stable, the hydro-guide box sends the drain oil into the tank, passing through the filter and the exchanger.
